As Larean passed the Arctic College and headed back to the castle, he still felt quite alone. The wind chill brushed against his face as snow began to reach it. The trees danced to the tune of the wind's whistle. Passersby looked at him as if he didn't belong. He knew it to be true. The only reason that he was here is because of Queen Lidia. She took him from his abusive home to her wonderful palace that controlled Icaria. Tears fell as he remembered that fateful night.
All was still, except for the mass chaos that was reigning in Larean's house. He had broken yet another of his mother's prized possessions and was paying the price for it, a whip to the back. He lost count at twenty-three, but knew he was bleeding. With each crack of the whip, he awaited the sting that followed. Blazing with tears, he heard a ruckus in the kitchen. Someone had burst into the backdoor. Rather some people. Two knights and the queen herself came through the door, preparing for a fight. Her sword edge was leaning into the skin of Larean's mother's throat. The knights tackled his father and was holding him to the ground. Larean himself couldn't move for the pain and agony that rushed every segment of his body. As the Queen helped him up, he tried to wipe his face.
The rest, he didn't know of. He only knew what he was told. He woke up about a week later to his recollection. His ribs and such were bandaged. The Queen told him that he passed out upon the quest back to the Kingdom. His mother was jailed for many years, while his father served the most grueling punishment known in these parts, Torture Vent. They fed him many different foods, poisoning each food to a degree. He suffered for months before his body finally gave out. Larean loved his father, but he knew it had to be done. As he was an only child, the queen took him in. He now served her happily.
But, even now, he knew that he didn't belong here. He belonged in a far away place where people wore rags and such. He was served food, and his garments were washed. He watched as the sky went from a light shade of blue to a dark one very quickly. A shooting star went by as he continued his quest back home. Home He thought. Is this my home? He continued to wonder.

Sky headed out of the College building rumaging aimlessly in her white messenger bag. It had been another long day of school and she was ready to go back to her appartment. She wasnt really paying attention as she walked down the street "I know I dropped that key in here somewhere..." she muttered. All of the sudden she ran into someone, she fell over on the ground and looked aorund "Oh ..Oh im sorry...Geez i should have been paying attintion Im really sorry"

Not watching where he was going, Larean ran slap into a woman. As he scrambled to his feet, he noticed that various books were dropped from her bag. "I am so sorry. Clumsy me!" He said, beginning to gather her things for her. He was completely embarrassed that he had done such a thing. "Please forgive me." He said, handing her the stack of books. He suddenly noticed the radiant beauty that her body encomassed. "My..." He trailed off, staring into her endless brown eyes. Even though she was not his type, he couldn't help but like her. "Err..." He said, realizing he was staring. "My dearest apologies." He continued, holding a hand out to help her up.

Sky smiled putting her books back in her bag and taking his hand and standing back up."No need for Apologies Sir, I wasnt paying attention to where i was going, it was my fault" she said. She reajusted her jacket and straighten her shirt getting herself back in order. she looked him over he was around 5 inches taller than herself putting him around 6 foot she'd guess he had a normal muscler build, he had short borwn hair and brown eyes alot like her self. He was handsome enough she supposed even though he wasnt really what she usually found attractive. The Square scar on his face which she figured most would consider disfiguring actually intreged her and gave him more character. She was an odd one like that Relizing she was standing there like an idiot apraising the poor man she brought herself out of her thoughts "um..Sorry again for running into you"

He looked at her radiant beauty as she stared into his colorless figure. Here he was, dangly hair and messy clothes, while she had on white leather pants and the such. He couldn't help but stare at her. Even though, he wasn't very attracted to girls. "Don't apologize." He said, turning to walk off. "Catch ya around." He waved off, heading for the castle once again.

Sky bit her lip in thought for a minute. She called after him hurriedly for reasons unknown to her. "I'm Sky just so ya know" she says standing still, she bit her lip again brilliant Sky why'd ya do that? let the man go on his way... she thought mentally kicking herself for her action. She stood there and tucked her hair behind her ear, waiting to see if he would just keep going or not.

He turned around. This hadn't been something he expected. "Well, hello Sky. My name is Larean." He said, taking a bow. "Would you care to join me?" He asked her. He walked towards her in case she said yes.

She let out a breath Wow...he turned around and everything.......Oh right he asked a question "I uh...Yeah" she said. She had kinda expected him to keep walking maybe yell his name back but hey this was even better. For some reason she felt like they could be friends. Which was knew to her she didnt really have any friends...but then again most of the people she knew thought very little of her because of her past.

Larean stopped, waiting for her to catch up. He wasn't in his usual wear. He wore fire design shorts with a white tanktop. It seemed a bit warmer than usual. The sun gleamed on his dark head. As she got near him, he began to walk towards the Castle. Now...what could we do for fun? He wondered to himself. Just before reaching the castle, he turned right. The path was covered in small bushes. Larean's sword did away with them, though. As he got to the end of the seemingly limitless path, there was a lake. It was one of the few that wasn't actually frozen. It was clear as glass and warm as the daytime. He removed his white tanktop, revealing the many scars on his back. He dove in, feeling the rush of the lake. It exhilerated him, encouraging him to swim deeper to the bottom depths of the lake.

Sky fallowed him and squatted at the side of the Lake watching him swim. She was tempted to join him he looked like he was having a great time and it was a nice day for the locals at least. She had seen some tourists shivering to death on there way here but they weren't used to the cold. But as much as she would have liked to join him her mind told her swimming in all white was probably not the best idea in the world when she would have to walk back home. She she staid in her spot by the lake and watched him swim smiling all the while.

He finally surfaced, gasping for breath. The clear waters were beautiful, but their cold chill got to him. He shivered, turning to his new friend. "You coming in or what?" He asked her, turning back around.

She laughed softly "I dont think so Swimming and White clothes dont go so well ya know? If i had on something darker i'd jump in but not like this no way" She said splashing him softly. She fiddled with a piece of ice she had found on the ground using one of the talents she had learned at school to change its shape to many different things.

He climbed up beside her, drying immediately. His fire powers grew greater and greater with each passing day. He smiled at her. "I can dry you afterwards..." He said, diving back in. "But, you can stay there if you want..." He said, splashing her. He knew it would irritate her.

She scruntched up her nose and took off her Jacket and boots then dived in. "Happy now?" she asked swimming past him and dunking him under as she went. She laughed and swam to the otherside of the lake so it would be harder for him to take his revenge.

Larean swam to the other side and dove deep. Reaching the side, he cast flame, charging him the other way at a very fast pace. Noticing that Sky didn't see this, he watched her from under. He grabbed her foot and pulled her down to him. As he saw her, she seemed shocked. He smiled victoriously. "Aha!" He tried to say, but the water filled his mouth. He swallowed.
