Finally stemming the flow of blood from the side of his head, Nicholas had made his way out of the village he had awakened in and toward the homes of the area. He had been told by priests in the village that the most powerful beings, so called "gods" lived here, and could possibly give him the answers he searched for. If they felt compelled to do so.
Finding the gates to the giant mansion, Nicholas approached them. The gates opened, and he stepped through. Instantly, his body seized. He was lifted off the ground, and felt a current pass through his body. All his weapons, his high powered rifle, his explosives, his knives and daggers, were stripped from him. He was released, and bid forward. Cursing under his breathe, he did so. I better get the weapons back he thought inwardly. Turning around, he saw them burst into flame and disappear. Cursing moreso now, he entered the main doors. A bright light blinded him instantly.
"Who enters my domain?" A voice boomed. Shielding his eyes, Nicholas entered.
"Nicholas Delgado. I search for Matthew Jones! I was brought to this place against my will, and I am looking for answers!" Nicholas yelled. The voice laughed as he spoke.
"YOUR will? Laughable human! It is MY will that you were brought here!" The voice boomed in return.
"What do you want from me?" Nicholas demanded. Instantly, pain shot through his body, dropping him to the ground.
"I will not tolerate your insubordination!" He was warned.
"What do you want?" Nicholas demanded, uglier this time then the first.
"A presence throughout the lands." was his reply, much calmer this time. The pain ceased, and Nicholas got to his feet.
"What do you mean?" Nicholas asked.
"An agent, an enforcer to my ways. My name is no longer feared. My followers dwindle. My worshippers mock me! I want you to make them tremble once more!" The voice cried.
"And what is your name?" Nicholas asked, his voice holding a hint of entertainment in it.
"I am Luse, God, of Lorgus!" The voice cried.
"And why should I be your enforcer?" Nicholas asked.
"You serve me, and I will allow you to live. I will give you that which you desire most..." Luse answered.
"You don't know Matthew Jones, much less able to kill him." Nicholas answered.
"I will find him. He will die, soon enough, I assure you. Until his death, you will serve me. Do you agree?" Luse asked.
"For the time being, your conditions are agreeable. However, you will tell me about this place before long. you will-" Nicholas began. Another streak of pain shot through his body, and his way gone.
Opening his eyes again, he looked about. He was back in the village.
